How do we verify pollen forecasts?

SDI's system of on-line entry of pollen counts into their data base allows them to compare thousands of forecasts with thousands of actual qualified pollen count observations in sufficient numbers to confirm our pollen level forecasting accuracy and to allow them to improve on the forecasting models and control parameters. In most cities over time, the forecasting accuracy closely approaches the accuracy of the weather forecasting. We take our role very seriously as a provider of vital information for hay fever and allergy sufferers and strive to provide the best Allergy forecast usng all available data including the ever-changing weather forecast.
